My Experience in Completing a TESDA MOOC Course
Learning through a MOOC (Massive Open Online Course) has been one of the most rewarding experiences I’ve had. Recently, I enrolled in TESDA’s online program and successfully completed the course Ships’ Catering NC III (Updates) with a 100% completion rate.
This course focused on the preparation of nutritionally balanced meals and the supervision and administration of the galley area on ships. It also discussed important updates from the Maritime Labour Convention 2006 adopted by the International Labour Organization (ILO). I really appreciated how this course helped me understand the importance of maintaining proper nutrition and hygiene standards, especially in a maritime setting where food safety is crucial.
What made this MOOC experience special was its flexibility. Since it’s a self-paced course, I was able to study in my own time and at my own convenience. The lessons were well-organized, and the materials were easy to follow. The sincerity of the instructors and the clarity of the lessons made the learning process enjoyable and effective.
I also started another course titled Using Educational Technology in the English Language Classroom, which I am currently 9% through. This course aims to help teachers and learners effectively integrate technology in education. I’m looking forward to finishing it soon and applying what I learn to real-life teaching and learning experiences.
Overall, my MOOC journey with TESDA has been educational, flexible, and empowering. It reminded me that learning never stops — and that with online education, anyone can gain new knowledge and skills anytime, anywhere.
